BIO
Malvina Kang Hughes (b.1987, Singapore) paints from a space of the unknown. She contemplates the many dimensions through stillness and introspection, to form a coherence of perception. Her gestures are intuitive, rhythmic and uninhibited, giving way to paintings which are formed from a place where no time, memory or impressions exist.
Malvina works outdoors to give life to raw canvases, gathering colours to form new compositions, which reflects a potent depth and expansiveness.
Malvina went to school in Victoria, British Columbia before continuing her studies in Los Angeles. She went on to live and create in multiple cities around the world, and is now based in Ibiza.
Her work is held in private collections across Europe, UK and Asia.
